Chöd

The practice of chöd is the main aspect of activities in the Ganden Chökor dharma centre. Venerable Lodrö Rinpoche will grant initiations into chöd practice once again this year, and will give commentaries that explain the practice. Ani Jampa who lives and works in the centre will guide chöd weekends for interested students during which chöd will be practiced, explained and deepened.

Initiations

His Eminence Dagyab Rinpoche, the lama of the Tibethaus in Frankfurt, will grant a series of important initiations in spring. Rinpoche will grant the initiations of Buddha Vajrasattva, Avalokiteshvara, and Akshobya.

In addition to the chöd initiations, venerable Lodrö Rinpoche will grant several initiations and commentaries that support our practices.

Lam Rim

The basis of tantric practice is an understanding of the „graduated path to enlightenment“ (lamrim). Venerable Lodrö Rinpoche will explain two important texts on this topic.

Merely listening to teachings about the graduated path is not enough; we may easily forget. To deepen the understanding of the lamrim, we offer meditation courses during which we will meditate on the different lamrim topics, guided by Ani Jampa.

Lodrö Rinpoche The Venerable Lodrö Rinpoche is the spiritual gide of the Dharmacenter Ganden Chökhor.

Ganden Chökhor

Ganden - or in Sanskrit "Tushita" - means the fortunate realm of Buddha Maitreya, the Buddha of illimitable love.

Chökhor is the wheel of Dharma. This Dharma wheel is frequently found on monasterys or main temple's crenellations. It is flanked by two resting gazelles, which serve to recall Buddha's First Discourse, held at the Gazelle's Grove in Sarnath.

The label showing the gazelles, which can be found on top of these pages as well as on all of the Center's printed papers, has been designed by artist Katharina Raehmi. She decided for a version showing the animals rising in order to implement the Dharma Teachings of Love in the world.
